Members of local photographic group “The People’s Republic of Teesside” are pleased to announce an exhibition of their work to be shown at The Heritage Gallery at Cargo Fleet, Middlesbrough. The exhibition will feature work by eight members of the “Flickr”-based group on a theme of “My Teesside”.
Mike Guess, who arranged the exhibition with gallery owners Python Properties, said that “The exhibition has been put together by group members and gallery curator Jodie Brewer-Wright and aims to present a personal view of this often-forgotten corner of the country. We hope that visitors will enjoy seeing the region through the eyes of a few of our group members.”
Group member Paul Bradley added “This is the second exhibition we have put together as a group; the first – also in conjunction with Python Properties – proved very popular with visitors. Whilst we are including a few photographers from the first event we also have contributions from a few new faces and all are showing new work.”
Gallery curator Jodie Brewer-Wright commented that “I am pleased to be showing this selection of work by local photographers. Each photographer brings a very individual view of the Teesside area and the exhibition provides a number of different perspectives of the region’s industry and landscapes.”
The exhibition will run from the 25th May, 2012 until the 5th July, 2012 – the gallery is open Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
