Bolton Lads & Girls Club Take over St.George’s House!
On Friday 31st August St.George’s House will be filled with artistic creations from talented youngsters from Bolton Lads & Girls Club!
A group of young people from the club have been completing the Government’s new scheme for school leavers; the National Citizen Service. The project was for the group to set up their very own art exhibition, for which the main theme is young people. They took this on with full enthusiasm and have expanded it into an innovative Arts Celebration Evening!
All involved have been very productive creating everything from the artworks to the exhibition flyers. On show will be many of their wonderful creations consisting of different forms of media; artwork, photography, poetry and music. We hope that all the fantastic creations put together by young people will give a sense of community to both the artists themselves and the viewers, as well as helping to dispel teenage stereotypes.
The evening will open at 5pm accompanied by Live Music and film projections with food and drink available. Later on in the evening the artists hope to auction off some of the art work and give the proceeds to their chosen charity, Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme.
Entry to the exhibition is free but donations to the charity would be greatly appreciated.
We hope you can come along to show your support for the talented group and see first hand their creations. The work will stay on show at the gallery until the 11th September.
