Tracy Fenton: Marriage Material
TRACY FENTON: MARRIAGE MATERIAL
MARRIAGE MATERIAL is a new site-specific installation by Python Arts’ first artist-in-residence Tracy Fenton. This new body of work is a reflection of the artist’s personal journey experienced over recent years – the pain, fears and frustrations.
Fenton has built a vast sculpture within St. George’s House that, like our beings, contains multiple avenues and vessels. Adorned with aspects of contemporary life, the tactile sculpture alludes to the body, shelter, and the protective power of togetherness. At the physical core of the work, calmness and serenity is imbued – a feeling that can only be experienced by the visitor and resonates with the artist’s personal healing.
This exciting body of work will be presented at a special opening on 13-14 February 2016, with performances to be scheduled throughout the weekend.
