Pythongallery raises £1,500 for Ukraine appeal
Upon hearing the devastating news of ongoing events in Ukraine, one of our dedicated art gallery curators, Peter Heselton was determined to find a way to help and decided to use one of our galleries to do just that.
Working with local artists to set up the event, Peter hosted the art auction on Saturday 2nd April within our pythongallery based in Boho Zero, in aid of the AUGB #HelpUkraine emergency appeal.
Many Teesside based artists kindly donated original works of art and the evening witnessed a good turnout of attendees both remotely and in person. By the end of the night the pythongallery auction had successfully raised £1,500.
The funds raised will help provide blankets, food and hygiene packs, emergency medical supplies and counselling support services to individuals and families who have been affected in the Ukraine.
Peter said: “The aim of the night was to take positive action towards the situation in Ukraine. The event was quite a special evening and was a testament to the generosity and support of both contributing artists and attendees. We’re overjoyed to have been able to raise £1,500 for this extremely important cause.”
Well done to Peter and all those who helped raise this amazing total!
