Colin Grimes: Reflection Collection Launch 2-4pm

Colin creates multifaceted images of contemporary life using reflective surfaces.

We are selective in how we see. We choose to look through the window, not at it. We are only able to view and record the window surface, or the subject beyond the glass, or the reflected world behind the observer. Colin combines these three worlds to produce fascinating and rich narratives.

He worked in art education for over 30 years with student and adult groups and organized Art Study Tours throughout Europe, USA and Russia. He has exhibited his art works extensively throughout his career, both nationally and abroad.

Join us as we launch this new exhibition on Saturday 12th March, 2-4pm.

This exhibition is kindly supported by Richard Brown Wealth Management Ltd.

More information about the exhibition is available online at colingrimes2016.tumblr.com.
Limited edition prints will be available on request from cjgrimes@btinternet.com.

Tracy Fenton: Marriage Material

TRACY FENTON: MARRIAGE MATERIAL
MARRIAGE MATERIAL is a new site-specific installation by Python Arts’ first artist-in-residence Tracy Fenton. This new body of work is a reflection of the artist’s personal journey experienced over recent years – the pain, fears and frustrations.
Fenton has built a vast sculpture within St. George’s House that, like our beings, contains multiple avenues and vessels. Adorned with aspects of contemporary life, the tactile sculpture alludes to the body, shelter, and the protective power of togetherness. At the physical core of the work, calmness and serenity is imbued – a feeling that can only be experienced by the visitor and resonates with the artist’s personal healing.
This exciting body of work will be presented at a special opening on 13-14 February 2016, with performances to be scheduled throughout the weekend.

This exhibition showcases a range of artwork created for a tutor-set project entitled ‘Inside/Outside’.  Group members explored the brief with a dazzling range of responses: drawing exteriors and interiors, figurative pieces and still life.  The eclectic mix of art on display – which includes pastel, ink, watercolour and charcoal – highlights the many forms the traditional artform of drawing can take.

Enjoy Learning is a not for profit association offering courses for adult learners in Bolton and the surrounding areas.  They offer a broad choice of classes for pleasure and without examinations to suit all levels of experience and ability.

The exhibition is free to visit and will open to the public from 10am on Monday 25 January.
