Python Properties, which sponsors pythongallery in Middlesbrough, has been shortlisted for the UK Sponsorship Awards 2014 and has been recognised as one of the top Arts Sponsorship companies in the UK.

Supported by Arts & Business, this award is focused on traditional arts and culture community and sees Python up against leading arts institutions once more. Python are in great company as their category also includes Sennheiser’s sponsorship of David Bowie Is… exhibition at the V&A, Sky Arts’ Ignition Memory Palace and BMW’s sponsorship of the Tate’s Tate Live.

Python Properties sponsor Python Arts which encompasses four galleries spanning the North, including pythongallery and The Heritage Gallery at Cargo Fleet in Teesside, The Gallery at Bank Quay House, Warrington, and The Gallery at St George's House, Bolton. The galleries regularly host inspiring and innovative exhibitions and play a big part in the development of the local art scenes in these areas.

This nomination comes after Python won the National Arts & Business Award 2014 for Corporate Responsibility.

The Sponsorship Awards recognise and reward excellence and effectiveness across all sectors of the sponsorship industry. The awards will take place in London on 26th May.

Martin Johnson, Python Properties said:

“Winning an Arts & Business award last year was a massive achievement for the whole team, and now to be recognised by the UK’s Sponsorship Awards really puts our fantastic work in the arts on the map.”

Python Arts Head Curator Emma Kelly elaborates on the shortlisting:

“To get this nod from the industry and our peers is a fantastic acknowledgement of Python’s creativity and investment in the arts. To be included in such illustrious company as the V&A and Tate is an incredible achievement for our small but dedicated team.

One of the points that were of main interest to us was the fact that we could plan the workspace and Martin & Peter really helped us through the process of planning the office. Since moving in we have been very impressed with their responsive and very proactive of working with us, if we have had any problems they have dealt with them straight away. They have monthly meetings where we meet up with all of the other tenants in the building and we talk through the issues we may have
