ST GEORGE’S HOUSE SMASHES TENANCY TARGET

ST GEORGE’S HOUSE SMASHES TENANCY TARGET
Added: 02/10/2013

One year after officially reopening its doors following a £1.5m regeneration project historic Bolton building St George’s House has smashed its tenancy target according to the developer.

North West-based property developer and regeneration specialist Python Properties has announced that the renowned building, which was originally built in 1908 and reopened in summer 2012 following a major restoration, has already filled four floors with commercial tenants.

The developer initially set a high target to fully occupy St George’s House within two and a half years but is now anticipating it to be filled by the end of 2013.

Python Properties partner Martin Johnson, said: “We knew prior to the regeneration project that St George’s House was a treasured building within Bolton, despite its poor neglected condition, but we have been overwhelmed over the last year at the take up of office space.

“The ground up renaissance project, which included retaining and restoring original features of the property such as the spectacular staircase and decorative ceilings, really brought the building back to life.

“We originally set the target to fully occupy it within two and a half years, which is very optimistic especially in the economic climate, so to have filled four floors in nine months since the first tenant moved in is incredible.

“We now only have limited office space remaining and with the current interest of potential new tenants we are expecting to fill the last floor in a matter of weeks.”

The five storey building includes an art gallery, bistro and an extensive storage basement in addition to five floors of custom built office space ranging in size.

The building has attracted a number of Bolton’s high profile businesses and organisations, including Ideal Corporate Solutions, SK Solicitors, Hamilton Levi, Bolton Healthwatch, Python Arts, Metropolis, Ego Restaurants, DSG Quantity Surveyors, Isopyre, Heaven Sent Catering, Metrotech Solutions and Milner Boardman Insolvency.
