Mixed Media Art Group
Thursday 16th June

Between 5pm and 7pm
The opening offers a great opportunity to meet the artists and ask any questions you may have about the work on display over drinks and nibbles.
Exhibition runs until Friday 8th July 2022
The MMAG met at the Palace Arts Gallery in Redcar, where they formed their original group called Happy Mondays. They became firm friends and formed an art family, meeting once a month to share ideas and enjoy being creative together. However, when Palace Arts closed down, the group were left without a meeting place, until The Heritage Gallery offered a space that they could continue their creativity and renamed themselves, quite fittingly, Mixed Media Art Group.
This exhibition promises to be a diverse and intriguing display, consisting of a selection of each of the artist’s eclectic visual responses.

Inspired by their local area and heritage, Art & Design students from Middlesbrough College will be displaying their work in what will be a truly diverse and intriguing exhibition. From graffiti to photography, mixed media and more, the display will be a celebration of the student’s creativity and achievements.
“Teesside’s Teenside” will be an assortment of various art mediums – a festivity of colour, technique and culture. The student’s are excited to showcase the results of their exploration through styles and methods during their time at Middlesbrough College.
Bridging the collaboration between the gallery and the college, is former student of the Level 2 Art & Design course – Jacob, who will be co-curating the exhibition alongside gallery curator Jodie Athey. Gaining experience through visits to the gallery during exhibition changeovers, has allowed Jacob an insight into the process of hanging exhibitions to feed back to the students and staff at Middlesbrough College.
You can expect to see a young vibrant visual response to our beautiful Teesside in this exciting collaborative exhibition.
The opening offers a great opportunity to meet some of the students & staff and ask any questions you may have about the work on display over drinks and nibbles.
